Ponosh Vascular is focused on providing you the best quality and most up-to-date vascular care available. Whilst private health care is expensive, we are here to look after you and make your experience as “pain-free” as possible in every sense of the word.
As a result we provide a NO GAP service (no out of pocket expenses from Mr Ponosh) for all inpatient or in-hospital medical procedures that Mr Ponosh provides with all health funds. Silver or Gold level cover is required due to Health Fund limitations (Bronze cover does not cover vascular or vein treatments as well as many other specialities). You may have an excess payment on your policy or some hospital incurred fees beyond the control of Mr Ponosh.
Consultations in the rooms with Mr Ponosh for new and follow-up patients (exceptions for some post-operative patients) unfortunately do encounter a fee (with a medicare rebate applicable – with valid referral and Medicare card). Pensioners, Veteran’s and Seniors Card holders do receive subsidised consultation fees. These fees will discussed with you when making your appointment.
All radiology imaging at Ponosh Vascular, through our integrated vascular ultrasound service Perth VascularScan is bulk-billed without exception.
Other imaging or tests such as CT, MRI, nuclear medicine or blood tests required by Mr Ponosh through external medical providers will be requested as “bulk billed” for your benefit.
These investigations (especially some MRI scans) through third parties may not be bulk-billed due to Medicate and Provider restrictions.
Mr Ponosh’s regular anaesthetist’s are also no gap providers for the majority of health funds. They will discuss this further with you personally. Please see our Theatre Team page for further information regarding our anaesthetist’s.
However, some procedures undertaken within the rooms as a result of Health Fund and Federal Government restrictions are not fully covered by your private health insurance or Medicare. The only procedures that fall in this unfortunate situation with Mr Ponosh are injection sclerotherapy, topical laser therapy and minimally invasive endovenous vein treatments (Radiofrequency & Laser Ablation). This is beyond Mr Ponosh’s control.
Ponosh Vascular is a busy practice and our appointments are in high demand. Your appointment is reserved especially for you. We understand that at times appointments need to be changed. We appreciate changes may need to be made for urgent reasons.

Endovascular Stents are minimally invasive “scaffolds” that are placed inside arteries to treat and keep blockages open. The stent shown here, the Cook Zilver PTX is a “drug eluting stent” that slowly releases a chemical to help reduce re-narrowing and improve long term outcomes.
Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repairs (EVAR) is now the commonest, minimally invasive treatment for this potentially life-threatening arterial “ballooning”. These grafts are a re-lining of your arteries using state of the art tailor made grafts. This video demonstrates the Gore Excluder C3 graft commonly used by Mr Ponosh
Coil Embolization is used to block arteries or veins through a minimally invasive procedure in a planned controlled fashion. It is often used to treat Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (Ovarian Vein Embolization) or as part or aneurysm treatment.
The Cordis Outback Elite Catheter is a novel system to allow the opening of blocked arteries. Using a “subintimal” or through the blockage technique, this device allows Mr Ponosh to treat challenging blockages in you arteries by this device making a new channel in your arteries.
Endovascular Staples are very small “screws” used to secure aortic endografts in some situations. These anchors are placed in a minimally invasive procedure from inside the artery.
